STEPHEN GOING FOR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE A year’s worth of hard work and dedication from Michael Stephen will culminate in the final round of the 2009 Bridgestone Production Car Championship to be held at Kyalami on 17 October. Michael had difficult start to the season, with some mechanical problems and race incidents placing him around fifth place in the Class A Championship for the first part of the season. Michael Stephen made a great start to his Bridgestone Production Car Championship quest this weekend (7 March) at Port Elizabeth. Michael was the quickest on track during both of Friday’s practice sessions, making his intention of a race win very clear to his competitors. He set the fastest qualifying time on Saturday morning, but a misunderstanding of the regulation saw his vehicle not meeting the minimum weight requirements and he was relegated to the back of the class. OFF-SEASON TRAINING
As a top class racing driver, Michael is committed to staying ultra fit. During the off season, Michael has been participating in the Bay Ocean Racing Series. This normally involves a series of 1km or 2km swims in the ocean on every 2nd or 3rd Sunday. As well as the swim series, Michael has also participated in the triathlon racing series. [Read More] |
